Historic Asbestos Abatement in Old Town Alexandria, VA

Video Transcript

At Envirotex, we specialize in remediation work of various kinds, however we don’t just perform this work on ordinary, run of the mill properties but also historic properties. These properties often hold some cultural significance, even if that is just being very old!

One such project was the remediation work done at a home built in the 1800s, found on North Washington Street, on the main drive coming into Old Town Alexandria.

This charming three story, red brick house will be preserved by the order of the City of Alexandria, while becoming part of a new hotel surrounding it. It will feature elegant suites that can be rented by guests for special occasions like weddings.

The city also ordered two more adjacent properties preserved as historic properties which meant that they could not be demolished. One of them next to the future hotel is a Little Tavern that was built in the 1940s, which was quite famous for its little bag of sandwich hamburger sliders.

The other one, on the opposite side of the road is a building which housed one of the oldest Howard Johnson restaurants in the US.

In case you weren’t aware, Envirotex was the contractor chosen to do remediation work on George Washington’s renowned Mt Vernon property. Historic properties need remediation and proper care to thrive through the years, and we are here to help.
